The Spacemakers studio was invited to develop a project to remodel an Alentejo hill belonging to several generations of a family.
The architectural concept sought to convey the essence of local architecture. Typical features were kept, such as the porch at the front of the house, a favorite destination for warm afternoons, which acts as an extension of the large living room, surrounded by a garden with centuries-old fig and walnut trees.
The old barn and stables gave way to a large living-dining room with generous ceilings.
In interior design, the concept sought to pay homage to the exuberance of the countryside, using floral and handcrafted patterns, and the use of large strokes of color in the recycling of family furniture, in a vibrant, almost baroque style.
